Profile
Your own name, timezone, sign-in and notifications — private to you.
At Settings → Profile, or Account in the menu under your email in the top corner of the app. Nobody else in the organisation sees these settings, and anyone can edit their own — there's no role restriction here.
| Setting | What it does | Default |
|---|---|---|
| Display name | Your own name, shown throughout the app wherever your activity appears. | — |
| Shown, but not editable here — contact support if you need to change the email on your account. | — | |
| Timezone | Drives your own timers and timesheets specifically. This is independent of your organisation's timezone (set in General), which is used for invoices and reports instead. | detected from your browser when you first signed up |
There's no avatar upload or email-change flow on this page.
Security
Also on Profile, a Security section lets you turn on two-factor authentication for your own login — no organisation action required. See Two-factor authentication for how it works, including the backup-phone recovery option.
App & notifications
A third section on Profile covers this device specifically — these settings aren't shared with your other devices or the rest of your organisation.
Install on this device. Springtrack can be installed like an app, with its own icon on your home screen or dock and no browser address bar around it. On a computer or Android phone, this page shows an Install Springtrack button when your browser supports it (or look for an install icon in the address bar). On an iPhone or iPad, open Springtrack in Safari, tap the Share icon, then Add to Home Screen — Safari doesn't offer a one-tap install button the way Chrome and Edge do.
Notifications on this device. Turn this on to get a notification — right on your phone or computer, even when Springtrack isn't open in a tab — for:
- Time you tracked that hasn't been submitted yet
- Timesheets awaiting your review (owners/admins)
- A timer that ran past the limit and was stopped automatically
The first time you turn this on, your browser will ask permission to show notifications — allow it, or this stays off. If you've previously blocked notifications for Springtrack, you'll need to change that in your browser's own site settings before this page can turn it back on — see Notifications blocked below. This is separate from the emails Springtrack already sends for these same events — turning notifications on adds a second way to see them, it doesn't replace email.
Notifications blocked
Once you've told your browser "never allow notifications from this site," Springtrack can't ask again on its own — that decision has to be undone in your browser's own settings first. Where to find it:
- Chrome or Edge (computer): click the icon just left of the address bar (a padlock, or a circled "i"), open Site settings, and set Notifications to Allow.
- Chrome (Android): tap the ⋮ menu → Settings → Site settings → Notifications, find Springtrack, and set it to Allow.
- Safari (Mac): Safari menu → Settings → Websites → Notifications, find Springtrack in the list, and change it to Allow.
- iPhone or iPad: notifications only work once Springtrack is installed on your home screen — after that, open the iPhone/iPad Settings app, find Springtrack in the list, tap Notifications, and turn it on.
- Firefox: click the lock icon in the address bar → More information → Permissions, then clear the block next to Send Notifications.
Afterwards, come back to this page and turn the toggle on again — changing the browser setting alone doesn't turn it back on by itself.
