Your first timer

Springtrack supports two ways of capturing time — pick whichever fits how you work.

Start a live timer

Pick a project (and, if the project uses a kanban board, a work item), then press start. The timer:

• Keeps running even if you close the tab — it's backed by a real record on the server, not a browser-only clock.
• Shows elapsed time as HH:MM:SS by default (or decimal hours, depending on your display preference).
• Is visible and resumable from any device you're signed into.

Only one timer can run at a time per person — starting a new one automatically stops whatever was already running.

Log time after the fact

If you forgot to start a timer, use retroactive entry: pick the project, the date, and the duration. See Logging time retroactively.

A timer left running too long

If a timer is left running for a very long time (16 hours by default), it's automatically stopped and flagged rather than recording an absurd duration — see Timer limits and rounding.
