Creating a client
Client companies, contacts, tax, and currency.
A client is the company (or person) you bill. From Clients → New client, you can set:
- Company name and contacts (used for sending invoices and, if you use the client portal, for portal access — see Client Portal).
- Tax rate and currency for that client's documents.
Deleting a client
Deleting a client shows how many linked records (projects, invoices) would be affected first — there's no accidental one-click destruction of a client with billing history attached.
Adding a project
From a client's page, use Add a project to create a project for them directly, without navigating away and losing context.
Clients are listed alphabetically everywhere they appear in a picker or list, so a growing client list stays easy to scan.
Adding a client from an invoice or estimate
You don't have to come here first. From an invoice or estimate's New page, + New client creates a client inline, right there on the page — no detour to Clients and back. It asks for the same minimum this page does (name and currency), plus an optional email and phone if you want to be able to email that client directly from Springtrack.
Client names must be unique for your organisation, including ones you've archived — archiving a client doesn't free its name back up. If you type a name that matches an existing (or archived) client, Springtrack tells you and offers to use that client, or restore it if it was archived, instead of creating a duplicate.
