Importing your data
Bringing in clients, projects, time, expenses, and estimates.
Springtrack has two ways to bring in existing data — both available from Settings → Import.
Generic CSV import
Upload a CSV, map its columns to Springtrack's fields (with automatic matching where possible), preview exactly what will be created, skipped as a duplicate, or flagged as an error — then commit. Covers clients, projects, task categories, time entries, expenses, and estimates. Available on every plan, including Free, since it's specifically meant to lower the cost of switching to Springtrack.
Harvest API connector (Pro)
If you're moving from Harvest specifically, connect your account via OAuth to pull in the same data plus structured invoices (Harvest's own CSV export only produces invoice PDFs, so the API is the only way to bring in real invoice data, not just images of it).
What's preserved
- Time and expenses that were already invoiced in Harvest stay marked as invoiced — they can't be accidentally billed again in Springtrack.
- Re-running an import is safe: previously imported rows are recognised and skipped rather than duplicated, and an import batch can be reviewed and rolled back.
- Uploaded files are deleted after import (they contain client data), and any connected account's tokens are stored encrypted.
